Summer is the season for big music festivals in France and they don’t come any bigger than the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany, approaching it’s 50th edition and attracting three quarters of a million Celtic music enthusiasts over ten days at the beginning of every August.I had the pleasure of attending for the first time a few weeks ago on a commission for Blackmagic Design, one of the world’s leading innovators and manufacturers of creative video technology.
Today saw the official inauguration in the port of Saint Nazaire, of Floatgen , the first deep-water offshore wind turbine destined for the French seas. This innovative and complex project has been developed by three major partners : Idéol, Bouygues and the Ecole Centrale de Nantes.
Now celebrating its 114th edition – “le Congrès des Notaires de France”- this institution of French civic, legal and political life, is an event I have now covered for the last four years. This year, there was a particular enticement, as the Convention was being held in Cannes. It was taking place in the Palais des Festivals, following on just one week after the internationally renowned film festival.
